West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) Notification MPP/2018/04 Dated the 26th of October 2018 in respect of Recruitment to the Posts of Assistant Manager (Human Resource & Administration) (20 Vacancies), Assistant Manager (Finance & Accounts) and Junior Executive (34 Vacancies), Brief on Eligibility, Examination Syllabus, Selection Criteria among others may be taken note of by the Candidates fulfilling the Eligibility Criteria for Application to the Posts as mentioned in the Later Part of the Information Bulletin:  

WBSEDCL Assistant Manager Apply Online 2018  

Online Registration in response to West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. Advertisement for Recruitment to the Posts i) Assistant Manager (HR&A), ii) Assistant Manager (F&A), and iii) Junior Executive (Finance) commences effective the 3rd of November 2018 with the Deadline for Online Application Forms closing on the 26th Date of November 2018 (03.11.2018 up to 26.11.2018).

Eligibility Criteria

Name of the Post: Assistant Manager (Human Resource & Administration) Class – I (Non-Technical):

Educational Qualification: 

Bachelor’s Degree / Graduation in any Discipline 02-Years’ Master in Business Administration (Regular) / Master in Personnel Management (MPM) (02-Years’ Course) / Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM)

(02-Years’ Course) with Major Specialization in Personnel Management / Human Resource or Post-Graduate Degree / Diploma (02-Years’ Course) with Specialization in Personnel Management / Human Resource from any University Recognized by the University Grants Commission / Institute Approved by All the India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) / Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) / Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) / Xavier Labor Relations Institute  (XLRI) / Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) Schools.

**Master in Business Administration (MBA) / Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) with Dual Specialization shall be accepted provided both Specializations carry Equal Weight age. 

Name of the Post: Assistant Manager (F&A) Class – I (Non-Technical)

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree / Graduation in any Discipline and passed Final Examination from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India  (ICAI) or 02-Years’ Master in Business Administration (Regular) with Major Specialization in Finance from any University Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) / the Institute approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) / Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) / Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) / Xavier Labor Relations Institute  (XLRI) / Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Schools.

Bachelor’s Degree / Graduation in any discipline from any Recognized University Plus either Passed in Intermediate Examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) / the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) or the Candidates having Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Accounts (PGDFA) from any University Recognized by the University Grants Commission / Institute approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Methodology of Selection

There will be a Three-Layered Selection Process; viz. i) Objective Type and Descriptive Type of the Written Test, ii) Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)and Personal Interview (PI) followed by Pre-Employment Medical Test (PEMT) as per prescribed Rules of the Company.

The Applicant(s) will be allowed to appear for a Written Test based on the Self-Declaration submitted at the time of Online Registration and Payment of the Prescribed Application Fee (wherever Applicable).

The Written Test shall be held in Kolkata covering the Tests in General Knowledge / Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic apart from the Tests of Knowledge in the respective Domain Subjects / Area. In addition, there will be a Descriptive Test (Essay Writing).

The Candidates will be Shortlisted for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) in 1:5 Ratio (Category-wise) of the Advertised Vacancies based on their individual Performance in the Written Test (including Descriptive Test).

The Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) would be held in Kolkata and will cover MS Office (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point). Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview in 1:3 Ratio (Category-wise) of the Advertised Vacancies based on the Combined Performance in the Objective Type of the Written Test and Computer Proficiency Test. The Process of Interview will also be conducted in Kolkata.

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited shall call the Candidates for the Written Test / Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) / and Shortlisted Candidates for Interview following Announcement of the Results at times.

Selection Criteria:

Final Selection will be made on the basis of the Candidates fulfilling the Prescribed Eligibility Criteria, Combined Performance in the Written Test, Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) & Interview yielding Final Merit List, Fitness in Pre-Employment Medical Examination, and Existing Reservation Rules of the Government of West Bengal.

Methodology for Resolving TIE

#In case of Tie in Score (Combined) due to Equal Marks obtained by 02 or more Candidates for the Post, for determining the Merit Position under this Notification, Following Methods shall be adopted by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL):

  1. In case of Two or More Candidates Scoring Equal Marks (Combined): The Candidate Senior in Age shall be given Preference.
  2. If the Aggregate / Combined Marks and also the Candidates’ Date of Birth being Similar: The Candidate scoring Higher in the Written Examination will be given Preference.
  3. If the Aggregate Marks, Date of Birth and the Score in Written Examination obtained by the Candidates being Similar: The Candidate having Higher Score in Viva voce / Personal Interview would be given Preference.
