The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) shall Announce towards December-end 2017 the Result for the SSC Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department Examination 2017 currently in progress, which shall conclude on the 25th of November 2017.

The Staff Selection Commission Notified Computer Based Online Test consisting 0f 02 Parts comprising 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions each carry Total 200 Marks with Negative Marking of (¼th) / 0.25 Marks for each Wrong Answers / Incorrect Response to each Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type.
The Staff Selection Commission, at their discretion, will determine the Category-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks aimed at Shortlisting the Candidates for Viva-voce / Personal Interview involving Verification of the Testimonials (Certificates / Documents).
The Commission will stipulate the Category-wise Minimum Qualifying Marks to be attained by the Candidates separately in each Part and in Aggregate. The Staff Selection Commission shall Announce the Result based on the Candidates’ individual Performance and Marks obtained, and those who would secured either the Minimum Qualifying Marks or Higher than the Minimum Qualifying Marks Category-wise shall be placed on the Provisional Merit List drawn up based on the Candidates’ respective Performance and the Marks scored. Only General / Un-Reserved having secured Maximum Marks in the Computer Based Online Test for 200 Marks shall be considered Eligible for Provisional Selection to the Post until Character and Antecedent Verification preceded by the Medical Examination is conducted to the Utmost Satisfaction of the Recruitment Agency / Employer.
Procedure for Announcement of the Result:
In accordance with the Directions issued by Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) vide its Office Memo No.39020/1/2016-Establishment (B) Dated 21.06.2016 for increasing Access of the Unemployed Candidates to Job Opportunities, it has been decided that after Declaration of the Final Result, the Staff Selection Commission will make the Scores and Rankings in the said Open Competitive Examinations conducted, available on its Website in Descending Order of Ranking.
The Staff Selection Commission shall prepare the Category-wise Merit List and hand it over to India Meteorological Department, which would declare the Final Result of the Computer Based Online Test / Computer Based Examination.
Methodology for Resolving TIE Cases:
In cases where more than One Candidate secures the Equal Aggregate Marks, TIE will be resolved by applying the following Methods one after another:
- Total Marks in the Computer Based Examination (Part – I & Part – II);
- Marks in Part – II of the Computer Based Online Test;
- Marks in Part – I of the Computer Based Examination;
- Date of Birth, with Senior / Older Candidates Placed Higher;
- Alphabetical Order in which First Names of the Candidates appear Online.
