The State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Punjab is likely to release the Press Release along with the Detailed Official Admission Notification (DOAN) for the candidates aspiring to seek admission into Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) / Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) Certificate in the Government and Private Institutions as per National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulation 2009 Combined Merit Based Centralized Admission Process for the Academic Session 2019– 2019.

The State Council of Educational Research & Training has commenced in the Academic Session for the candidates admitted at the District Institutes of Education & Training and Private Institutes on Merit. The Online Registration for DEl.Ed Admission will be started soon from the website www.ssapunjab.org.
The State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Punjab has release the notification for Admission to 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) into various government and private institutions of Punjab. The Candidates who are interested in taking admission to DIETs or Self-financed institutions in two years D.El.Ed course can register online application form through the website of SCERT Punjab.
Admission to Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course in Government and Private affiliated institutions as per National Council for Teachers Education Regulations 2019 through combined merit-based centralized admission process to be undertaken by Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Director Public Instructions Secondary and Elementary Education Punjab. The intake of seats in this admission for Humanities, Science, Commerce and Vocational Streams will be in the ratio of 60:20:10:10 seats respectively as per combined merit.
Age Limit (As on 01.01.2019 / the Cut-off Date):
The Candidates belonging to Un-Reserved / General Community should not exceed 36 Years of Age (and the Other Backward Classes / Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Candidates) must not exceed 41 Years of Age for admission into Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Diploma in Elementary Teacher Training (DETT) Course.
Maximum Age Limit:
Maximum Age Limit as on 01.01.2019 for the General Category Candidates will be 36 years as per the decision of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court vides LPA no. 448 of Punjab State & another Vs. Wazir Kaur with Relaxation in Upper Age Limit of Five (05) Years of Age for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Candidates.
Essential Minimum Educational Qualification:
The General / Un-Reserved Candidates must have passed/qualified the Senior Secondary (+2) School Certificate Examination with Minimum 50% Marks.
The Other Backward Classes (OBC) / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) Candidates should have scored 45% Marks in their respective Intermediate / Higher Secondary (12th Std.) Certificate Examination.
The Candidates having passed their Matriculation / Secondary (10thStandard) School Certificate Examination with all compulsory Subjects shall be Eligible for admission into Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) for the Academic Session 2019 – 19.
The Candidates must have studied/passed their Matriculation with Punjabi Language Subject.
Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only) payable by the General Candidates. Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) payable by Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Candidates (in case Fee not hiked).
The Candidates subsequent to detailed scrutiny and found bona fide would be summoned for ONLY ONE ROUND OF COUNSELING for Verification of their Educational Documents / Caste Certificates / Domicile Testimonials for admission in the State Council of Educational Research & Training affiliated Government District Institutes of Education & Training and Private Institutions. The State Council of Educational Research & Training shall also prepare One Wait List comprising 25% candidates for admission in the D.El.Ed.

60% Seats of the Total Intake leading to Admission in the Private Institutions shall be filled in compliance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulation 2009 shall be Combined Merit Based Centralized Admission through Centralized Counseling by the State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT). 40% Seats under the Management Quota (MQ) shall be filled by the concerned Institutions / District Institutes of Education & Training subject to fulfilling of the Essential Minimum Educational Qualification as prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research & Training. However, the State Council of Educational Research & Training affiliated Government Institutions / District Institutes of Education & Training shall seek permission from the State Council of Educational Research & Training for admission of the candidates.
SCERT Punjab D.El.Ed ETT Merit list 2019
The State Council Research & Training, Punjab will release the SCERT D.El.Ed ETT Merit Liston the official website. The Candidates of General Category who have obtained at least 50% marks in l0+2 or equivalent will be eligible. Five percent relaxation in marks will be given to SC/ST students. The admission will be on the merit basis. Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2. The Provisional Merit for Deled Admission will be displayed on shortly at the website of SCERT Punjab. The Final Merit List/Result will be announced on soon at the website.
Punjab D.El.Ed/ETT Admissions Counseling 2019
Online counseling will be held for the admissions to D.El.Ed (ETT) for the academic session 2019-20, consisting of three rounds. The Principals of DIETs and private institutions shall scrutinize the documents of the candidates who are provisionally allotted their institute through online centralized counseling. Three phases of online counseling will be held to complete the D.El.Ed ETT admission process. The waiting list of remaining candidates with their merit will be displayed on the website from which the institutions can fill their vacant seats after the 3rd round of online counseling.
As per the policy of 60% of seats in private institutions will be filled on the basis of combined merit through centralized online counseling by the SCERT and remaining 40% seats of management quota will be filled by the concerned institutions. The concerned institution will take the permission from SCERT before starting the admission process for the 40% management seats.
For all the Institutions, Reservation for admission shall apply as per the Punjab Government Policy Guidelines.
In the case of a TIE IN MERIT, preference shall be given to the candidate with Higher Merit in l0+2, and In the case of further TIE in 10+2 Merit, Preference would be given to a Candidate higher in Age.
