Procedure for Selection:

Police Constable Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Non-Ministerial):  

Selection Process:  

The Eligible Applicants shall be issued Call Letters to appear for the Following Test. The Date and Place for the Recruitment Test will be indicated in the Call Letters issued for the Candidates. The Candidates will have to undergo the Following Tests.

i)         Physical Measurement (PM): The Candidates shall be screened First for Height, Chest (Men), Body Mass Index (BMI).  The Candidates would be screened First for Height and Weight for Women

ii)       Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The Candidates, who satisfy the above Conditions of Physical Measurement, will be admitted for the Physical Efficiency Test.

Physical Efficiency Test Brief:

 a) For Male Candidates:

Stage – I – 800 Meters Run – 02 Minutes and 50 Seconds (170 Seconds)

Stage – II – Long Jump 3.80 Meters

Stage – III – High Jump 1.20 Meters

Stage- IV – 100 Meters Run to be completed in Fifteen (15) Seconds.

*Ex-Service-Men shall not put to pass the Physical Efficiency Test mentioned hereinabove. They will be Eligible to directly appear for an Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test, if they possess the Minimum Physical Measurements and pass the Medical Examination.

b)  For Female Candidates:

Stage – I – 200 Meters Run to be completed in 45 Seconds.

Stage – II – Long Jump – 2.75 Meters

Stage – III – High Jump 0.9 Meters

Note:

1)       All the above Events are Compulsory.

2)       Each Stage of the Physical Efficiency Test is a Qualifying Round by itself for the Next Stage, i.e., only the Candidates, who qualify in the Stage-I of the Physical Efficiency Test shall be Eligible for Stage – II and so onward.

Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test: (200 Marks):

i)         All the Candidates, who qualify in the Physical Standards and the Physical Efficiency Tests, shall be put to undergo an Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination. The Items in the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination Test Question Paper Booklet shall comprise the Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type and will be generally of +2 Standard. The Test Question Paper will consist of Two Parts, each for Two Hours Examination Duration;

ii)       The Written Test will be in English and Regional Languages, i.e., for the Candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malayalam and for Yanam in Telugu. The Questions for General English shall be only in English Language.

Note:

1)       Physical Tests, OMR Based Written Test, Medical Examination will be conducted in Puducherry only.

2)       The Candidates will have to appear for the Physical Efficiency and the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test at their own Expenses.

Radio Technician Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Non-Ministerial):

Selection Process:

The Eligible Applicants shall be issued the Call Letters to appear for the following Tests.

The Date and Venue for the Recruitment Test shall be indicated in the Call Letters issued for the Candidates. The Candidates will be put to undergo the Following Tests.

Physical Standard:  

a)       The Candidates should have Sound Health, be Free from any Disease, Defect or Deformity.

b)       Minimum Distant Vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of Two Eyes without Correction, i.e., without wearing Glasses. The Candidates should not have Color Blindness.

c)       Height:

Male Candidates: 165 Cms.

Female candidates: 157 Cms.

Chest:

Male Candidates: 81 – 85 Cms.

Female Candidates: Not Applicable.

Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination:  

i)         All the Candidates, who qualify in the Physical Standards, shall be put to undergo an Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination.

ii)       The Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test will be in English and Regional Languages, i.e., for the Candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malayalam and for Yanam in Telugu. It will however, be clarified to all the Candidates that after Selection, the Training Course will be in English / Tamil and all Candidates have to pass the Examination either in English or Tamil Language.

Note:

1)       The Physical Standard and the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test shall be conducted in Puducherry only.

2)       The Candidates will have to appear for the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test.

FINAL LIST OF SELECTION, ILD CANDIDATES:

The Final List shall be declared separately for General Candidates / SC / ST and OBC / MBC.

The Candidates will be selected after the Physical Test and the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test. The Result of the Successful Candidates will be hosted on the Government / Department Website at the end of Test / Recruitment.

Deck Handler
Selection Process:

The Eligible Applicants shall be issued the Call Letters to appear for the following Tests.

The Date and Venue for the Recruitment Test shall be indicated in the Call Letters issued for the Candidates. The Candidates will be put to undergo the Following Tests.

Physical Measurement:

Physical Standard:

Height: Not less than 165 Cms.

Chest (Normal): Not less than 81 Cms. (Expanded): Not less than 86 Cms.  (Unexpanded – 81 Cms – Expanded 86 CMS)

Appeal:

The Appeal made by any Candidate on the same day of the Physical Test will be examined and the Decision of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Admin) in respect of the Appeal shall be Final.

B) Physical Efficiency Test: The Candidates, who satisfy the above Conditions of Physical Measurement, will be admitted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Physical Efficiency Test Details:

Swimming Efficiency Test: The Candidates will be tested for Swimming Efficiency.

a)       Swimming Speed: The Candidate should be able to swim 100 Meters within 10 Minutes.

b)       Swimming Style: The Candidates will be tested in different Swim-Styles and shall Evaluated accordingly. (Front Crawl, Butterfly and Breast Stroke)

c)       Floating Ability: The Candidates will be tested for their individual Floating Capacities.

Note:

Those Candidates, who qualify in the Swimming Test, will only be Eligible to appear for the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test. The Decision of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Admin) shall be Final in case of any Appeal made by the Candidates.

Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination:

All the Candidates, who qualify in the Physical Standards and the Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Examination, shall undergo an Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination / Written Test for Maximum 85 Marks. The Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Test Question Paper Booklet shall comprise in general, Secondary School Leaving Certificate Standard Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type. The Examination Duration of the OMR Based Written Test is 01 Hour 30 Minutes. Swimming Efficiency carries Maximum 15 Marks.

The Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test shall be in English and Regional Languages, i.e., for the Candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malayalam and for Yanam in Telugu.

After Evaluation and Preparation of the Result Sheets, the Answer Sheets shall be sealed and handed over to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Admin) for Safe Custody. The Application Forms / Dossiers of the Candidates, who fail in the Examination and the Application Form / Dossiers of the Candidates, who are included in the Panel List, will be retained till Declaration of the Result of the Next Recruitment.

Note:

1)       The Physical Measurements, Physical Efficiency Test, Medical Examination and the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Examination / Written Test will be conducted in Puducherry only.

2)       The Candidates will have to appear for the Physical Measurements, Physical Efficiency Test, Medical Examination and the Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test.

FINAL LIST OF SELECTED CANDIDATES:

The Final List will be declared separately for General Candidates / SC / ST and OBC / MBC. The Candidates of General Category securing Minimum Qualifying 40% Marks, and SC/ST/OBC/MBC Candidates securing Minimum Qualifying 35% Marks in the above Optical Mark-up Recognition Based Written Test held may be considered to have qualified in the Test finally and would be Eligible for consideration for Recruitment as Deck Handler in Puducherry Police, subject to Availability of the Vacancies under various Categories. Wherever, suitable Candidates are not available, then the Criterion in the Marks obtained may be lowered with the Prior Approval of Director General of Police / Inspector General of Police. The Result of the Successful Candidates will be hosted on the Government / Department Website at the end of Test / Recruitment.
