The University of Lucknow (UL) will be soon declare the Result of the Ph.D. Qualifying Entrance Test (PQET) 2018 shortly. The University of Lucknow (UoL) shall conduct the Ph.D. Qualifying Entrance Test 2018 at 12:30 PM. Lucknow University shall commence at 09:30 Hours the PQET 2018 for admission in all other Subjects in the First.

The University of Lucknow (UL) announced Result of the Ph.D. Qualifying Entrance Test 2018 to be conducted by the Controller of Examination for admission into Bio-Chemistry, Business, Geology, Women Studies and Astronomy streams of the Doctor of Philosophy.
We anticipate the University of Lucknow to announce by mid of November 2018 the Result of the UL PQET 2018.

We would display on our Website the Detailed input comprising the Result of the Ph.D. Qualifying Entrance Test – 2018 and the Viva-voce / Personality Test for the ready reference of the candidates Shortlisted for Personal Interview.
The University of Lucknow shall shortlist the Candidates based on their Performance and Marks in the Ph.D. Qualifying Entrance Test – 2018. The Candidates securing fewer marks than the Prescribed Minimum Qualifying Marks in the Ph.D. QET – 2018 would be declared ineligible for Personal Interview. Hence, the Candidates having obtained Sufficient High Marks on the Merit Lists shall be summoned for Interview for Final Selection.

The University of Lucknow has underlined the riders for appearing at Interview for Admission / Final Selection into different streams of Doctor of Philosophy for the Academic Year 2018 – 2019 as here under:
Procedure for Admission:
The Applicants who have qualified the Qualifying Entrance Test would be required to appear before an Interview Board, of the Department / Institute concerned, as approved by the Vice Chancellor with Head of the Department being the Chairperson. The Interview Board would consist of (i) Head of the Department, (ii) Two Professors (by seniority and rotation every year) (iii) Two External Subject Experts nominated by the Vice Chancellor (iv) One Representative of Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Category each (in case, the Panel does not already have an Expert of the Category). Such SC/ST and OBC Representatives shall act as Observers only (and shall not award any Marks to the applicants before the Interview Board) and shall submit their reports to the Vice Chancellor.
The Interview Process shall consist of assessment of the candidates on the basis of the following three criteria (stages):
- A Research Proposal (in 400 – 600 words) in the area of Research Interest of the Applicants to be submitted by him / her to the Interview Board.
- A Power Point Presentation of the said Research Proposal by the Applicant before the Interview Board.
- A Personal Interview.
Maximum Marks allocated to these three criteria (Stages) of Interview Process shall contribute to 20% each for the stages (i) (ii) and (iii) amounting to an accumulative Contribution of 60%.
Final Selection List Preparation:
The Marks obtained in the interview (out of 60%) as detailed under Clause 4.04 of this Ordinance shall be added to the Academic Index (40 % Contribution towards the Total) of the Applicants.
Academic Index of the Applicants shall be calculated on the basis of Percentage of Marks obtained at Under Graduate & Post Graduate levels and those who have secured Grants for Research, such as, Fellowship / Scholarship / Associateship, etc. from University Grants Commission (UGC) (National Eligibility Test – Junior Research Fellowship) / Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) (NET- JRF) / Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) / Master of Human Resource Development Scholarship (MHRD) / Teacher Fellowship / Department of Bio-Technology (DBT) / Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) / Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) / Department of Science and Technology – Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (Department of Science and Technology-INSPIRE) etc. and shall be computed out of an accumulative index of 40% as per breakup given below:
- Percentage of Marks 75 and above: 10 %
- Percentage of Marks 60 to less than 75: 8 %
- Percentage of Marks less than 60: 5 %
This shall be computed for marks obtained by the applicants at each of undergraduate and post graduate levels (maximum 10% at each level amounting to an accumulative index of 20%)
- iv. Applicants having fellowship/ scholarship/ Associateship etc. from UGC (NET-JRF)/ Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (NET-JRF) / Teacher Fellowship/ Department of Bio-Technology / Indian Council of Medical Research / Indian Council of Agricultural Research / Department of Science and Technology – Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST-INSPIRE) etc. shall be awarded 20% Marks.
The Interview Board would prepare Category Wise Merit List (based on the Candidates’ performance in the Interview [Steps i, ii and iii as detailed under Clause 4.04 of this Ordinance] plus Contribution towards Academic Index (as detailed in Clause 4.09 of this Ordinance) of pooled Applicants of both the Streams).
The Final Selection List would be displayed on Lucknow University’s Website as well as on the Departmental / Institute’s Notice Board within Two days of the last day of the Interview.
