The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Department of Posts shall conduct the Optical Mark Recognition Based Written Examination / Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions based Aptitude Test for the candidates for recruitment to the Posts of Multi-Tasking Staff and in the posts of Postman / Mail Guard for the years 2019 in Jharkhand Postal Circle.

Postman & Mail Guard AND Multi-Tasking Staff:
The Examination Fee prescribed for all Male Applicants in General and OBC Categories is Rs. 400/-. (Rupees Four Hundred only). The Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Physically Impaired / Women are exempted from payment of Examination Fee.

Selection Criteria:
The Department of Posts shall prepare Divisional Level Merit based on the Aptitude Test from among the candidates having applied and declared Qualified to the Posts for the Division / Unit Concerned.
The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Office of the Chief Postmaster General shall prepare A Common Merit List for the respective Postal Divisions / Units in respect of all categories of the Posts put together.
Selection Procedure:
Final Selection shall be carried out as explained in the following Paragraphs notified by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India in respect of the Postal Circles in Jharkhand State.
The Marks obtained in the Aptitude Test will be considered to draw merit for each Recruiting Division and Selection will be purely on merit basis.
Provided that SC, ST, OBC, and PH candidates, who are selected on their respective Merit without Relaxed Standards, along with the candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the Reserved Share of the Vacancies.
Such SC, ST, OBC, and PH candidates will be accommodated against the General / Un-Reserved Vacancies as per their individual position in the Merit List. The Reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the Eligible Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Physically Handicapped Candidates which will, thus, comprise the SC, ST, OBC and PH Candidates who are lower in Merit than the last General Candidate on the Merit List of the Un-Reserved Category but otherwise found suitable for appointment even by Relaxed Standard.
It is further stated:
- if two or more candidates secure Equal Marks in Aptitude Test and they are standing in the last position in the Merit List, then it is clearly stated that the Candidate senior in Age will be considered for Selection;
- if two or more candidates secure Equal Marks in Aptitude Test and they are standing in the Last Position in the Merit List & their respective ages are also the same, then the candidates who secured Higher Percentage in the Matriculation would be considered for Selection.
