As a corollary of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) / National Higher Education Mission (NHEM) decision in respect of admission into 28 Master’s Courses / Post Graduate Courses for the Academic Session 2020, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is all set to release shortly a detailed Press Communiqué and the Information Bulletin / Admission Brochure 2020 at the university of HPU web portal.

In view of the glitches in drawing up Merit List based on the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the Under Graduate Subjects being experienced by Himachal Pradesh University, the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) / National Higher Education Mission (NHEM) has taken a decision and, hence, made it mandatory for the Himachal Pradesh University and all other universities to conduct the Post Graduate Entrance Tests for admission into all 28 Departments of Post Graduate Courses.

The students aiming to seek admission into Master’s Courses in Himachal Pradesh University shall have to appear in the Himachal Pradesh University Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET).

HPU University PG Entrance 2020 Application Form

H.P. University, based on the candidates’ performance, shall prepare Subject wise shall shortlist them for Personal Interview. Himachal Pradesh University would prepare Final Merit List for their candidates taking into consideration their Aggregate Marks both in the PG Entrance Examination and Viva-voce. The candidates shall have to fulfill Minimum Credit Conditions for admission.

Himachal Pradesh University, however, shall not conduct Entrance Examination for admission into Post Graduate Diploma / Diploma Courses.  HP University shall only host Personal Interview / Oral Test for admission into the Courses opted by the candidates.  The candidates shall have to fulfill Minimum Credit Conditions for admission.

Candidates must be passed bachelor degree in relevant subject or equivalent examination from recognized university or Institute.

Admission Process

The admission to the PG courses will be made strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance Test and shall be open to all, subject to the reservation approved by the University. The merit list will be determined on the basis of competitive examination. The minimum qualifying marks for the Entrance Test will be 35% (in case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks shall be reduced until the full SC/ST quota for admission has been exhausted) for calling the candidates for Interview / Admission.
