The responsibility of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is limited to the conduct of the Entrance Test, declaration of All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) Result and providing the Merit List to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the Participating States / Universities / Institutions.
The Counselling for the successful candidates under 15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services and the Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States / Universities / Institutions shall be conducted by their respective Authorities.
The All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2015 qualified as declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education shall become eligible for admission into MBBS / BDS Courses on the bases of the following Criteria:
- All India Merit List (AIML)
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ)
- 85% Delhi University Quota (DUQ)
- Existing Reservation Policies (ERPs)
- Counseling under 15% AIQ
- Counseling under 85% DUQ

The Central Board of Secondary Education declared All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2015 Result shall be followed by the Counseling to be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee. The Medical Counseling Committee shall communicate the Dates for Counseling for under 15% All India Quota and 85% Delhi University Quota.
The Directorate General of Health Services shall conduct the Counseling of the candidates under 15% Seats All India Quota.
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) shall hold the Counseling of the Candidates under 85% Delhi University Quota.
The Central Board of Secondary Education shall draw up the All India Merit List (AIML) based on the performance of the candidates in the AIPMT – 2016 under 15% All India Quota (AIQ) from the said List in compliance with the Existing Reservation Policies (ERPs) for Admission into MBBS / BDS for Seats under 15% All India Quota and also for seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions in the Academic Session 2016-17 and other Criteria decided.
All other Existing Eligibility Criteria for admission into MBBS / BDS at the participating States / Universities / Institutions shall be in accordance with the Policies the participating States / Universities / Institutions.
In order to be considered for 85% Delhi University Quota, the Eligible Candidates appearing in the upcoming All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2016 should also have applied to the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), University of Delhi on the Online Application Form submitted to the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi
Inter-se Merit for Tie-breaking:
In order of the preference as mentioned hereunder:
- Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2016
- Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the AIPMT.
- Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the Test
- Age of the Candidates (i.e., Seniority in the form of the Age or candidate’s being older in age to be preferred).
Counseling for Seats under 15% All India Quota:
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shall hold the Counseling for Seats under 15% All India Quota.
Counseling for Delhi University under 85% Seats DU Quota:
Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) would conduct the Counseling for Seats under 85% Delhi University Quota.
