Taking cognizance of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), New Delhi, Indicative Advertisement in respect of Recruitment to the Posts of Scientist-B, We would briefly cite in the Subsequent Paragraphs. The Candidates fulfilling the Eligibility Criteria may Apply Online in compliance with the Instructions mentioned in the Advertisement.   

BIS Scientist B Recruitment 2018

Online Registration in response to Bureau of Indian Standards’ Indicative Advertisement for Recruitment to the Posts of Scientist ‘B’ Commences on the 16th Date of March 2018 (16.03.2018) with the Deadline for Online Application Forms Closing on the 2nd Date of April 2018 (02.04.2018).

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limitation (As Per the Cutoff Date):

Un-Reserved Candidates should have Attained Minimum 21 Years and must not Exceed 27 Years of Age.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limitation for Reserved Candidates.

Name of the Posts Educational Qualification

Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical  Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering discipline Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Textile Engineering & Fibre Science

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent in concerned with not less than 60% Marks in Aggregate (50% for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe  Candidates)

Microbiology Master’s Degree or Equivalent with not less than 60% Marks in Aggregate

BIS Scientist – B Examination Admit Card Download 2018

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) shall release the electronic Admission Certificates for the Candidates. The Candidates shall be informed of Transmission and Uploading of the e-Hall Tickets via their Registered e-Mail Id in this regard as well.

The Candidates would be able to Download their respective e-Admit Cards Minimum 07 Days before the Date of Commencement of the Computer-Based Test.  The e-Admit Cards issued for the Candidates will bear the Instructions for Compliance.

The Admit Cards for the Computer-Based Online Test / Written Test, containing the Details of the Center / Venue for the Examination, etc., will be sent to the Candidates at the Registered e-Mail Id. The Candidates shall need to take a Print-out of their respective e-Admission Certificates / Admit Cards. The Candidate may also Download their respective Examination Hall Tickets / Admit Cards from the Bureau of Indian Standards Website using their Individual Registration Number and the Password.

The Candidates will not be allowed to enter the Examination hall without valid Admit Card. 

BIS Scientist – B Computer-Based Test 2018:

The Bureau of Indian Standards shall Host on the 15th Date of April 2018 a Computer-Based Online Test comprising the Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type aimed at Shortlisting the Candidates followed by  Personal Interview for the Post of Scientist ‘B’ likely in May / June 2018.   

The Eligible Candidates shall have to appear in a Computer-Based Online Test with 2½ Hours (150 Minutes) Duration at their own Expenses.

The Test Question Paper Booklet shall consist of Two Parts comprising 120 Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type carrying Equivalent 120 Marks;

Part I comprises 80 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions based on respective Technical Discipline as mentioned in the Advertisement.

Part II comprises 40 Multiple Choice Questions of Objective Type on Aptitude / Analytical Reasoning including English.

The Standard of the Multiple Choice Questions will be of the Level of Graduate Engineer or Post Graduate Science of the Discipline mentioned in the Advertisement.

The Competitive Written Examination shall be conducted in Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Guwahati, Mumbai.

The Candidates should choose one of the Test Cities in the Online Application Form submitted by them.

  • Final Select List drawn up in order of Merit Obtained taking into consideration Un-Reserved Candidates Secured Sufficient High Marks / Maximum Marks in both Computer-Based Test and Personal Interview.

  • Character & Antecedent Verification.
